Boston, MA – Citi Performing Arts Center, The Madison Square Garden Company and Metropolitan Entertainment Consultants announced today that Dolly Parton will take the Wang Theatre stage on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 8:00PM as part of her Pure & Simple Tour. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:00AM.
Parton will be playing the Wang Theatre in support of her new double-disc album Pure & Simple with Dolly’s Biggest Hits. Parton’s set list will include the hits her fans love along with a few new songs from the release. She will also be playing songs that have not been heard live for decades.
Over the course of her illustrious career, Parton has had 25 songs reach number one on the Billboard Country charts, garnered seven Grammy Awards, ten Country Music Association Awards, five Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards and received Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award. Her acclaimed film roles include the 1980 hit comedy 9 to 5, Steel Magnolias, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone and Straight Talk. In 2004, the U.S. Library of Congress presented Parton with the Living Legend Award for her contribution to the cultural heritage of the United States.
