Boston, MA (December 8, 2017) – The Boch Center, The Madison Square Garden Company and G-Squared Events announced today that the Boston 90’s Block Party with Guy featuring Teddy Riley, Ginuwine, Next, Dru Hill and 112 will come to the Boch Center Wang Theatre on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 7:30PM. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:00AM.
Guy is an early 90’s R& B band whose members are Aaron Hall, Damion Hall and Teddy Riley. Teddy Riley is the creator of the new jack swing sound of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Guy’s debut album Guy with Uptown Records went double platinum with hits such “Groove Me”, “I Like”, “Round and Round” and “Teddy’s Jam” to name a few.
Next is an R&B musical trio formed in 1997. They are best known for their hit singles “Too Close”, “Wifey” and “I Still Love You” which still receive frequent airplay. Next’s debut album, Rated Next was certified double platinum landing them a nomination for an American Music Award.
112 is an R&B quartet signed with Bad Boy in the 1990’s. Their self-titled debut album, 112, released in 1996, went double platinum spawning hit singles such as “Only You” and “Cupid” which both peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 and No. 2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart, respectively.
Dru Hill is an R&B group popular in the 1990’s, whose genre included soul, hip hop soul and gospel music. Dru Hill recorded seven Top 40 hits, and is best known for the R&B #1 hits “In My Bed”, “Never Make a Promise” and “How Deep is Your Love”. The group released two successful albums in the 90’s, Dru Hill and Enter the Dru.
Ginuwine, a 90’s singer, songwriter, dancer and actor, signed to Epic Records in the mid-1990’s. Ginuwine has released a number of multi-platinum and platinum selling albums and singles, becoming one of R&B’s top artists during the late 1990’s. Ginuwine’s 1996 debut album was Ginuwine…The Bachelor and featured his first single “Pony” peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
