On November 9, staff travelled across the country to San Diego, where Citi Performing Arts Center was inducted into the Palladium Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame as the very first non-profit arts organization. The award recognizes Citi Center's use of the Kaplan-Norton Balanced Scorecard to achieve breakthrough business results.
What is the Balanced Scorecard? The Balanced Scorecard links strategy to operations to drive business outcomes through the simple premise that "what gets measured is what gets done." In 2006, Citi Center adopted an exciting new vision to evolve "from just a physical space to a true nexus of arts performance and arts education." To support this new vision, Citi Center selected ClearPoint Strategy Balance Scorecard, software that helps organizations clearly define strategic objectives, track key measures of success, and monitor ongoing initiatives.
We are proud to announce that Citi Center is the first non-profit arts organization to be inducted in the Hall of Fame's eleven-year history, joining a distinguished group of organizations from both the public and private sectors. "Citi Performing Arts Center considers itself an innovative model for non-profit arts organization and is proud to be recognized as the first in this esteemed international group." said Josiah A. Spaulding, Jr., President and CEO. See the full press release, here.
