As you may have heard, The Addams Family Musical closed on Broadway at the end of 2011. But not to fear, the new and improved tour has been making waves across the country. In November, Citi Performing Arts Center hosted their annual gala with an Addams Family theme. Guests dressed up in their creepy couture and danced the night away while making donations to benefit the Citi Center education and preservation projects.
This month, Citi Center Education will be distributing Addams Family Curriculum to participating Boston Public Schools in preparation to see the show live as part of our Target Arts program. Curriculum includes a focus on social studies and the arts. In addition, the No Snap Judgments Initiative, created by The Addams Family production, emphasizes the importance of openness and respect for others. Recently, Boston Common magazine interviewed Citi Center President/CEO Joe Spaulding on his excitement for the show. The Addams Family Musical makes its entrance at the Citi Shubert Theatre February 7-19, so don’t miss your chance to get up close and personal with the first family of creepy.
