I'm excited to bring my talent for combining stories, movement, and music into the classroom, and directing young people in making their own theatrical creations.
I saw a joyful moment in the classroom last week when our students made individual tableaux, each one freezing with an emotional facial expression and active physical gesture. That showed me they understood the concept of freezing in action and making pictures with their bodies.
I am looking forward to using many tableaux in our final performance and especially having the children create tableaux in response to the emotions we are exploring behind the story of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." By discussing the emotions of the characters in this book, the children are looking at their own emotions and learning how to express them in both words and physical actions.
