Power of Music

As the music specialty Teaching Artist, I take great pride in inspiring growth and development in any way possible. I recall a few Teen Leaders in Music Dpecialty that came to me and stated that they wanted to become better vocalists. After listening to them, I realized that their range of proficiency nearly completed the entire spectrum. Luckily, I was able to help each one of these singers achieve new levels of facility in their vocal journeys. One Teen Leader came to me and said, “I can’t believe that I can sing with some power now! My mom always says I sing too soft.” I noticed another singer’s tone improve dramatically and another find control she did not possess beforehand; another improved pitch command. I was so glad I could help unlock the amazing talent that lay within each one of them. They are now singing up a storm!
I’m too humble to take any significant credit for their growth, but I’m so thrilled I was able to help them in my own little way. I hope these teen leaders take the arts with them into whatever professions lie before them. I live to inspire self-expression and it almost brings me to tears to know that these teens will hopefully be able to inspire future generations using some of the tools we have provided them!
