Corey Evans

Senior Director of Education

Corey has extensive experience working in the nonprofit and arts education sector, both within the Boston Public Schools and on a national level. At the Boch Center, Corey has revamped and expanded the City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program from a 5-week program serving 30 teens to a 7-week youth employment minimum wage program (that will double in 2015). In addition, she has cultivated new partnerships to support all education programs and developed new community based programming. Before joining the Boch Center in 2012, Corey served as Director for the Center for Arts in Education for eight years at the nationally acclaimed Boston Arts Academy (BAA) where she managed a variety of programs including the Summer Institute for Arts in Education, curriculum consulting, the Teachers as Artists Fellowship program, Boston Arts Academy’s school visit program, and a training program for student ambassadors. In addition, she served as the Clerk of the BAA Board of Trustees, coordinating all Board of Trustee meetings as well as board communication and relations.

Before working at Boston Arts Academy, Corey spent a year working in the Brookline Public Schools, primarily in Special Education at Brookline High School and conducted research for Boston University. She graduated from The University of Kansas with bachelor degrees in Sociology and Human Development and earned a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Boston University.
