Hola Hola Hola!
City Spotlights has begun, and boy is it different! Now we of course have gone virtual (as many programs have) which can be difficult for any organization, but I continue to be amazed by the tenacity, versatility, and passion that City Spotlights has always had and continues shine through on our screens. From the staff putting in every creative effort to the participants bringing their joy from their homes; this program stands to fight for youth to have their voices heard and stories told. This year’s conversations revolved around Covid19, the Black Lives Matter movement, black and brown stories and what it all meant for the students as a collective and as advocators of social justice. Through various conversations and passionate discussions this year’s City Spotlights theme is One spark starts a fire: Advocating from our Hearts! We are so excited to explore this theme and to explore some ideas that we never have before!
