The City Spotlights Teen Leadership Council is a school-year youth employment program that offers 15+ Boston teens, many with little to no prior access to arts career opportunities paid arts sector positions as artistic leaders and community advocates.

The goal of this youth employment program is to enable Teen Leaders to deepen their facilitation and job readiness skills; engage Boston residents in meaningful dialogue about a social justice topic, and empower young people to operate as change agents in their communities. They work with children, local organizations and creative professionals, and college students on college campuses to explore social justice issues through a community advocacy performance and workshop tour devised and performed by teen employees. Once the summer starts at the end of the school year, many Teen Council members transition to become a paid summer employees as part of the City Spotlights Leadership Program as noted above, offering a full year-long pathway of opportunity.
