Coming back for a second year, I was already anticipating the copious amounts of joy we all would have. But nothing could prepare me for how the program has gone thus far. This year's Cohort of teen leaders never ceases to amaze me. Immediately as we came in, I noticed in music specialty that they were ready to go right away! I explained to them the very important task at hand, which was creating the “group song,” which they would not only use for the State House, but for the entire summer. Right away, they all started incorporating ideas and supporting the ideas of the others.

I believe that these teens are the perfect microcosm of what our world could be if we make space for everyone’s light to shine. At two weeks in, they’re working with people they’ve never met and creating songs that could top charts all over the world. I feel so honored to be working with these young people and helping them mold their ideas into works of art. We are sure to have a final showcase that will go down in history.
