Staff Blog Week 3

By Lesley – Teen Support Manager

As if creating an original song, performing it at the State House, and creating a script to express their concerns and requests to State Representatives wasn’t a daunting task to complete in a week, City Spotlight Teen Leaders swiftly took on their next project! The following week, teens learned and showcased an original dance performance throughout Boston! These pop-up performances on Flashmob Day required them to push themselves to learn original choreography. For some teens, this challenged them to explore creatively out of their comfort zone; while for others, it was the perfect opportunity to show their dance talent. This sunny day was filled with support from the Boch Center staff who often met teens with popsicles, drinks and encouraging signs! The teens had so much fun dancing and showcasing their performance alongside their peers, the public, staff, friends and family. Some magical moments included members of the public joining in on the dance, the many cheers, taking over the Boch Center’s Instagram account for the day, and a sign-along carousel ride! Teen Leaders ought to be so proud of their hard work, their artistic expression, and bringing so much talent and joy with their performances!
