Flashmob Day!! It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year at City Spotlights. It was a day of communal joy and support for one another. Teens were excited to show off their moves, not only during the official flashmob but also showing their cultural roots playing afrobeats, reggaeton, and bachata. This moment of shared cultural joy further demonstrates this summer’s theme of Immigration, showing our community that diversity actually unites us.

A special moment was seeing how the participants and staff encouraged each other to dance. One teen in particular, Jaythan, showed his enthusiasm by being the group's personal hype man. In moments where everyone was taking a little too long of a break in between flashmobs, Jaythan would rally everyone together to keep us going. That’s what flashmob is all about: Having genuine fun and bringing attention to ourselves to promote the Final Showcase!
