Staff Blog Week 4
By Catherine Giorgetti – Acting Teaching Artist Assistant
This week, the teens came out of their shells as they prepared for Workshop Tour and had their first two Workshop days. Throughout the lead-up to the tour, many of the teens started to step up as leaders in their individual workshop groups. Teen Leaders worked together collaboratively to create their workshops and implement feedback so they could feel confident going into their first few days of tour.
When Workshop Tour started on Wednesday and Thursday, the teens were ready, and it showed. The workshops were a success, with participants excited to be there and learning a lot from the teens. Each Teen Leader stepped up during workshops and showcased the leadership and advocacy skills that they have been building since the beginning of the program.
On top of the amazing work the teens were doing in their workshops, they were also committed to their pop-up performances. The first two days of workshop tour were hot and rainy, but that didn’t stop the teens from committing to performing around Boston. Flashmob, original songs and dances, and a lot of karaoke brought the workshop groups closer together and spread joy as they moved through Boston.
