Staff Blog Week 4

This week, the 2025 City Spotlights Teen Leaders wrapped up their preparation for their Workshop Tour and completed their first two days of advocacy throughout Boston communities. Before starting the tour, the teens presented their workshops to each other and were given the opportunity to not only practice their full workshops but also receive feedback, which was used to perfect their scripts. This gave them the chance to continuously practice the ways in which they wanted to communicate this summer’s theme of immigration, and also encouraged them to become more comfortable with the art pieces they’ve been creating in their specialties.
Despite the teens only participating in two workshop days so far, their growth in confidence and leadership has been undeniable, as they’ve continued to spread their message to different Boston communities. The teens have formed relationships within their workshop groups that have caused them to support one another and to back up each other during each part of their workshops. They’ve also participated in Pop-Up performances where they perform art pieces throughout public Boston communities and have created a friendly competition amongst each other. Overall, the two days of workshop have been very enjoyable so far, and I cannot wait to see what the teens have in store for these upcoming days.
