Boch Backstage
The Boch Center's Education Department is launching the Boch Backstage program, an exciting new program that brings local performing arts history to life!
This comprehensive three-session experience designed for Upper Elementary students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades engages students through in-classroom workshops, a field trip to the historic Wang Theatre and hands-on creative activities led by professional Teaching Artists. The program will dive into the history and cultural importance of Boston’s historic Wang Theatre and allow these young artists the opportunity to foster a love of creativity and become life-long artists!
Some of the program’s intended benefits include:
- Introducing students to local performing arts history and Boston’s cultural heritage, including exploration of the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame.
- Developing artistic appreciation and creative expression skills.
- Strengthening social and emotional learning competencies through collaborative activities, self-expression, and reflection.
- Providing experiential learning beyond traditional classroom settings.
- Fostering connections with Boston's cultural institutions and explore Boston’s music history.
